I was visiting with my dad the other night about the current shape of the economy and the fact that the polls show that the majority of people will either save their stimulus check or use it to pay down bills.
To which I replied is complete BS.
When was the last time that you got a $600 windfall that you did not expect that you spent it wisely?
Case in point, I see many people at the bar win a $200-500 pull tab only to spend it all the same night on drinks or other frivolous gambling.
Nickel backs up my claims with his recent post.
I think that stimulus check will go right where the government wants it to go, except for a portion that fills the gas tank a couple times with these ridiculous oil prices.
Americans just don’t know how to save or live below their means. They can say anything they want. We all know actions speak louder than words!

Once again it’s time to clean out the RSS feed.
I do this from time to time to keep the noise level down to a somewhat normal level. The amount of blogs I was following had crept over the 200 mark once again so I cut it down by 20.
I think this is going to be an onward trend. I have noticed that I am less likely to post if I see a subject has been hammered to death by other bloggers which ultimately makes me post less as a whole.
If I don’t see it being hammered to death by other bloggers I won’t be as discouraged to chime in.
So today the feed is lighter by 20.
Next week I am going to cut another 20.
That means if you are on my feed, you better make some memorable posts in the next week!

Dodge makes a bold move, guaranteeing gas at $2.99 a gallon for 3 years on any new vehicle purchase or lease.
See terms and conditions here:
http://www.dodge.com/en/refuel/
Pretty sad to see though that their highest eligible vehicle’s mpg is 24.
No wonder they need an incentive plan for people to put a Dodge in their garage.

The Moritz family bought the Southport marina from Kevin Turnbow last week. This includes the convenience store, The Pier restaurant and bar, fueling stations and boat slips.
Now the Moritz family owns 3 marinas (Marina bay and also Rickers).
I’m not really sure how I feel about this as it seems like they kinda have a monopoly in that area of the Missouri River, but we will see what happens this summer as I am on the river more now that I am once again a boat owner.
Which brings me to my next news item. I bought a boat!
Well nothing really fancy, in fact it is over 30 years old, but it floats and runs. That’s all I need for a little relaxation out on the river this summer. Plus it is always a good thing when you can pay cash for a depreciating “toy”.
